KinLock ("KinLock," "we," "us," or "our") is a family voice-scam protection service operated by Peter Marullo as a sole proprietorship. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the KinLock app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information. When you create a KinLock account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number.
Family member information. When you add a family member to your safe-word circle, we collect the name and phone number you provide for them, and we generate a private safe-word associated with that person.
Verification & alert history. When you use the Verify Call feature, we log the outcome (verified, blocked, or flagged) along with the family member name and any caller number you enter, so you can review your alert history.
Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. KinLock does not collect or store your card number or other payment credentials — Stripe handles that directly and shares with us only your subscription status and a customer reference ID.
We do not collect or store voice recordings. KinLock's safe-word verification is entirely text/SMS based. We never record, store, or analyze audio of your calls.
We use the information above to:
KinLock sends two kinds of text messages: (1) a private safe-word sent to a family member when you enroll them, and (2) a one-time verification code sent to your own phone number when you choose to verify it. Message frequency depends on your usage. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP to any KinLock message for help, or reply STOP to opt out of future messages. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We rely on the following providers to operate KinLock, each of whom processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We retain your account and alert data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see below). We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections and access-controlled databases, to protect your information.
You can review and update your account information from the Account page in the app. You can remove a family member from your safe-word circle at any time. To request a copy or deletion of your data, email us at the address below.
KinLock is intended for use by adults (18 and older) as account holders. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect account registration information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
